September 11th

The "War on Terrorism" is merely a smoke screen that masks a hidden agenda. That agenda being the plan to shake-up the Middle East in favour of US "interests", primarily being the security of energy resources which are known to be in decline due to increasing global demand. The neoconservatives in Washington see this as vital if American global leadership is to continue. By declaring a 'War on Terrorism' the Bush administration was in fact going to invade other countries under the pretence of 'fighting the war on terror'. The attacks on 9/11 served as an ideal pretext to kick-start this plan.

There is no doubt that elements within the Saudi government/royal family were heavily involved with the hijacking plot. Pakistan's intelligence service (ISI), having long established ties with both the CIA and Saudi intelligence (GIP), also played a key part. It is clear that US intelligence knew in advance of the impending attacks, but took no action to stop them. Was this monumental incompetence or wilful neglect? America's use of Islamic militants for political purposes has a long history - further "independent" investigation could uncover CIA complicity.

Project for the New American Century [website]

- In 1997 a group of neoconservatives founded the 'Project for the New American Century' (PNAC) - A PNAC document entitled 'Rebuilding America's Defenses' [PDF], details what steps should be taken to ensure that America remains the global leader. It states that to preserve American military preeminence in the coming decades a transformation must take place involving new technologies and operational concepts, and that this transformation "is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor"

Oil
- Global conventional oil production is on the brink of terminal decline (unconventional oil is more expensive to produce, but large amounts of it exist in South America and Canada) - The rate of oil discovery has been falling since the 1960's - The vast majority of the world's remaining conventional reserves are located in the Middle East and Central Asia - Over 60% of oil consumed by the US is imported - By 2015 the UK too, will be importing over 50% of its oil requirements - According to independant Geologist Dr Colin Campbell, the global decline will start by 2010 "It starts with a price shock due to control of the market by a few countries, and it is followed by the onset of physical shortage, which just gets worse and worse and worse" [BBC]

Afghan Pipelines

- Afghanistan is located in a prime position for the transportation of the vast amounts of cheap oil & gas from the Caspian Basin - A UNOCAL-led consortium competing with Argentinian firm Bridas, proposed to build pipelines through Afghanistan years ago [BBC] - This pipeline would rival the "peace pipeline" from Iran [HeritageFoundation] - In 1997 Taliban officials visited UNOCAL HQ in Texas to discuss the agreement [BBC] - Negotiations between UNOCAL and the Taliban were conducted by Enron through Saudi intelligence [JohnLoftus] - Confronted with the Taliban's refusal to accept US conditions, the US told them: "either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs" [AsiaTimes] - FBI Counter-Terrorism Chief John O'Neill resigned from the FBI in disgust, stating that he was ordered not to investigate Saudi / al-Qaeda connections because of the Enron pipeline deal (O'Neill died at the World Trade Center on 9/11) [JohnLoftus] - The US installed Afghan leader Sir Hamid Karzai [BBC] , a former UNOCAL consultant [AsiaTimes] - A pipeline agreement has now been signed [BBC] [DailyTimes] - This pipeline may have saved Enron from collapse by providing cheap gas to one of its 'loss making' power stations in India [CorpWatch] - The invasion of Afghanistan was planned before Sept 11 [BBC] - Taliban leaders & al-Qaeda fighters were flown to safety with secret US approval during the war [NewYorker] - Opium production has increased by 1400% [BBC] - Who benefits from the Afghan opium trade? Iraq

- Under former CIA 'hitman' Saddam Hussein, Iraq was the first OPEC member to start trading oil for euros instead of US dollars, thus threatening the strength of the US petro-dollar [Observer] - By changing Iraq's regime and removing the country from OPEC, this will loosen the stranglehold that OPEC has on world oil prices - The elusive weapons of mass destruction were sold to Hussein by Western companies right up until the late eighties [Times][SundayHerald] - Iraq has vast and easily accessible conventional oil reserves, the second largest in the world [BBC] - The US now appears to be building permanent bases in Iraq [BBC]

9/11

- On the morning of Sept 11 2001, CIA official John Fulton and his team at the National Reconnaissance Office were running a pre-planned simulation to explore the emergency response issues that would be created if a plane were to strike a building [AssociatedPress] - Vigilant Guardian and Vigilant Warrior were two other exercises being run by NORAD that same morning [Cooperativeresearch] - There was confusion as to whether the hijacked planes were part of an exercise - When it was known that airliners were being hijacked, fighter-jets launched late from distant bases, flew to defend their nation at a fraction of their top speed; some even headed out to sea - [VanityFair] [NORAD/AssociatedPress] - Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda have connections to the CIA, MI6, and the Pentagon [Guardian][Independent][Guardian] [GlobalResearch][Cooperativeresearch], Le Figaro reported a claim that, whilst in hospital for kidney treatment in July 2001, bin Laden was met by the local CIA officer in Dubai [Guardian] - CBS News reported a claim that he also underwent secret kidney dialysis at a military hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on the day before Sept 11 [CBS] [Reuters] - During the months before the attack, Pakistan's ISI Chief Gen. Ahmad (intelligence service), allegedly instructed an aide to wire transfer $100,000 to hijack ringleader Mohamed Atta [AsiaTimes] [TimesofIndia] - On the morning of Sept 11, Ahmad was at a meeting on Capitol Hill hosted by the chairmen of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees [WashingtonPost] - It has been claimed that some of the hijackers were trained at secure US military bases [Newsweek] - The CIA have overturned refusal of visa applications in Saudi Arabia, to people with terrorist connections [BBC] - FBI agents were forced to close down investigations into the bin Ladens and terror networks by the US government [ABC] [Guardian] [Time] - Riggs Bank, a longstanding facilitator to past CIA operations, apparently channeled money from the Saudi Arabian Embassy to associates of two of the 9/11 hijackers [CooperativeResearch]

The Saudi Connection

- Fifteen of the hijackers were Saudi citizens and reports link Saudi intelligence to some of them [Guardian] [CNN] [SMH] [CBC] A US congressional report suggested that people connected to the Saudi govt might have given financial support to the hijackers [BBC][Observer] [CooperativeResearch] - The Bush family and the Saudi royal family have a very cosy relationship [CraigUnger] - Western intelligence agencies have a long standing relationship with The Muslim Brotherhood, an extremist right-wing organisation [JohnLoftus][CooperativeResearch] - The Saudis were no friends of Saddam Hussein [BBC] - Saudi Arabia, which has the world's largest conventional oil reserves, is under threat from Islamic revolt - In 2003, the US removed most of its military presence in Saudi Arabia [BBC] [USAToday]

Foreknowledge - nothing was done to prevent the attacks

- Ringleader Mohamed Atta was identified as an al-Qaeda operative in 2000 by a US military intelligence unit called 'Able Danger' [CNN] [ABCNews] - Detailed warnings were given to the US in advance of the attacks by at least 11 countries. Mossad even provided names of four of the hijackers [BBC] [Telegraph] [CooperativeResearch] - Straight after the attacks, United Airlines’ stock prices plummeted. At the time it was reported that suspicious 'put options' had been purchased. Basically, if you buy put option shares you are taking a gamble that those shares are going to drop in price, because you can then sell them at the original high price but purchase them at the new low price. The amount of these put options bought was way above the norm. Investigations into who was responsible for these deals lead to Deutsche Bank/Alex Brown Inc. The bank's chairman up until a few years ago was former CIA executive director, Buzzy Krongard [Independent]

The controlled demolition red herring
Some people have suggested that explosives were used to bring down the towers and building seven. Having extensive knowledge of building construction, theDossier does NOT believe that this is the case. The people who support this demolition theory have no understanding of the basic principles of structural engineering. They fail to grasp the relevance of the buildings' unique designs, the damage caused by the impacts and the resulting fires. It's quite possible that this theory is disinformation, and one would do well to steer clear of this ridiculous notion. Discussions on the subject can be read here and here
